For those who have been following the gravy threads recently, you might get a kick out of this one. It was fun, different, original (as far as I know), and extremely good!! I smoked a turkey not long ago on the Rec Tec and after a couple meals pulled all the meat off the bones, vac sealed it by light and dark meat designations, and put it in the freezer. Pulled out a pack of the dark meat for this one and a small tub of the drippings to make the gravy. The day I made this I received a new 14" semi-deep dish CI pizza pan from Amazon so figured I'd give it a shot and break it in.

Started out with several cloves of fresh garlic and chopped them up to roast

Gravy all done. Been through this a time or two so won't bore all of you with a step by step

Spread the dough out on the pan, turkey first, then gravy

Add some fresh broccoli (for Tracy) and the roasted garlic

A bunch of fresh, shredded whole milk mozzarella

Onto the grill. About 20 minutes in I moved it to the top rack

All done

Get it out of the CI pan so it doesn't burn from the residual heat

No question this was bizarre but it was incredibly good!! The dark meat was the best way to go for flavor. The roasted garlic added a LOT to the profile, but that gravy is what set it over the top. Made with the drippings from the turkey, it was stellar. We didn't think going in that it'd be bad in any way but were totally amazed by how good it came out. The only request from the other half is that I add some spinach next time. I like spinach so no issues there from my standpoint. I'm absolutely loving that CI pizza pan. It heats and cooks so much more evenly than just tossing the pizza onto the stone. The crust was perfect all across the bottom and up to the top. I'm gonna have a ball with this thing, I can tell you that. Now...to continue the very fun trend that a whole lot of people are enjoying: GO #TeamGravy!! gotta tag a couple folks on this one who have been really amping up the fun with the gravy and CI cooks: Brokenhandle Brokenhandle Misplaced Nebraskan Misplaced Nebraskan Oh, Almost forgot...when I posted the tri tip lasagna, our good friend Al ( SmokinAl SmokinAl ) commented that he had no idea what I might come up with to top that as far as bizarre goes. This one might just do it :emoji_laughing:

I guess we'll see y'all on the next installment of SMF's version of The Twilight Zone

Dang Robert. What a nice looking pizza. I bet it was tasty for sure. Love all the ingredients. Especially the broccoli and gravy. A great idea for when Thanksgiving rolls around and you've eaten your 50th turkey sandwich and need something new..... Thanksgiving Pizza! Another win for #teamgravy

Thanks a ton Jake!! Appreciate it buddy. Shared this with a friend and he said all I needed was mashed taters and cranberry sauce for a complete Thanksgiving dinner pizza :emoji_laughing: The pizza purists might balk at this one though and I don't blame them one bit.

Well boy howdy Robert, even tho it goes against my heritage and everything I believe in pizza-wise, I'd sure as heck sit down to it with a mug of ice cold beer and give it a go, Like! RAY

How dare you post something like this. I totally am....am....am....wanting a piece of that pie. That looks pretty tasty and interesting.

Knowing a little bit about your heritage I can certainly see how this goes against everything you believe in but sure do appreciate the accolades. I did as a matter of fact enjoy this with a big mug of cold beer and it was a match made in heaven. Thanks for the like my friend.

:emoji_relaxed: go #team gravy! Another awesome use of gravy...would've never thought of it. But glad you did! Sounds like a dang good idea to me. Nice job Robert

Thanksgiving pizza? Who would have ever thought? Count me in brother. Looks amazing! I would down half of it and wash it down with some apple pie shine. Very inspirational!

Got another idea for you if you got leftovers. Line the bottom of a CI skillet with the pizza slices, throw some mashed taters and gravy on the flat top and give it a nice sear, top the pizza with the taters and gravy, add more gravy, and then bake for a few. Thanksgiving pizza Shepard's pie if you will.

As far as anybody should be concerned this belongs here since the turkey is smoked!

Excellent looking pie, very original like many of your cooks. I bet that tasted absolutely delicious.

Wow what a great looking pizza Robert! It reminds me of a white broccoli pizza with the addition of gravy (never a bad thing!) and turkey....so it must be absolutely delicious!

By the way, I LOVE that CI pizza skillet! I could only imagine all the things that could be made in that.

This beats leftover turkey noodle soup anyday.

How could you not like this??? I'll take a whole pizza for myself then take my thanksgiving nap! Lol! Nice work Robert!

If I'm not body by beer, then I'm definitely body by gravy! +1 on the cook, like the smoked meat incorporation to a unique pizza cook, nice job.

Got to say Robert I'm really starting to worry about you my friend! with that said it sure does look good.

Now that's different and thinking outside the box. I'd give it a try.

Point for sure
Chris

Looks great, Robert! Totally original idea, and how could it not be delicious? You've done it again Sir!
