Greetings!
I'm trying an experiment to see how well I can better find new posts. I use Firefox on Windows Vista. Not sure if this experiment can help others, but feel free to ask/comment.
What I did: Went to the Forum main page and clicked on "Mark Forums Read". Went back to SMF's home page with the "Recent Activity". What I noticed as new posts are displayed is the title of the thread with a new post is bold and a little red box pops up on the left side. If the screen shot below is clear enough, you can see the red box. At first, the number in the red box is 1. As I'm typing this, and refreshing the main page, several posts now have the number 2 in the red box. I'm guessing that is telling me that since I marked the forums as read, these threads have one or more new posts I haven't read yet. Am I close?
Also, I logged out, closed the browser, came back and all seems to be as I left it when I logged out. Some people have commented that marking forums as read doesn't work (or didn't). It seems to work for me, but I'm just trying to find out for sure.
Many thanx for any input.
