mine will never get above 400 and even less since its cold out i think maybe the temp probe thats inside is pretty dirty. Anyone have an easy way to clean all the black stuff off it.

Have you checked the thermometer with a known thermometer like a Thermopro?

WHY ISN’T MY GRILL GETTING HOT ENOUGH?

If your grill is not getting above 400°F on the High setting, it can be caused by a few different things:

Off-brand pellets, old pellets, or pellets that have pulled in some moisture will not burn as hot (most common cause)

Poor airflow in the grill, which can be caused by too much ash buildup in the firepot, rusted holes in the firepot, a tightened chimney cap, a weak induction fan, or the RTD temperature probe inside the grill is dirty or leaning towards the body of the grill.
