Hey Folks,

I have a brand new Traeger Pro 780 I picked up on Sunday, have used it 4 times this week and am absolutely in love. Previously, I was using a barrel charcoal smoker and the drip tray placement was much more straightforward, enough room for the smoke to filter out the left side then come back out the smokestack on the right. On my new Traeger, the drip tray extends the whole width left to right of the smoker but has room front to back. I have been setting it right in the middle and allowing smoke to pass through on the front and back of the drip tray but am unsure if this is correct. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks so much!
Caleb

It sounds like it's similar to mine.mine also has gaps in the front and back. Just make sure it's installed correctly, you don't want the drip pan to lay perfectly flat,at least in mine, as the drippings will fall into the smoker and not into the bucket on the outside.
