Pic heavy.

Smoked brisket in the pit barrel cooker.
Had to trim off the flat a tad to make it fit on the rack.
Nice to have an outdoor fridge to rest the meat while you wait for the cooker to come to temp.
Around 8 hours
Rested in cooler for about an hour and was still steaming when I went to slice it.
Very juicy\moist
Flat had more of the smoke ring.
Saved the trimmed fat to render later
Cooked fresh garden potatoes and fresh garden beets, beets were done in the air fryer with seasoning and brown sugar.
Meal was excellent, son went back for seconds. 20260821_114913.jpg 20260821_114921.jpg 20260822_102255.jpg 20260822_102259.jpg 20260822_102314.jpg 20260822_102347.jpg 20260822_121457.jpg 20260822_121506.jpg 20260822_182642.jpg 20260822_190747.jpg 20260822_190944.jpg 20260822_191833.jpg 20260822_191839.jpg 20260822_191848.jpg 20260822_191852.jpg 20260822_192600.jpg 20260822_192605.jpg

Oh yeah that looks like a winner!
I've cooked everything BUT a brisket on the PBC but that's gonna change soon!

If your using the grill just make sure the one you pick can fit into your PBC. Mine was a few inches to long so I had to trim the end off. Even if I hung it I'm guessing it would have been in the charcoal. :)

Looks great! But ouch on the cost. I know you guys pay mor for beef, but I expect we will be there in no time.

Ya I hear you about the cost. Main reason I have not bought a brisket in a long time. This is actually cheap compared to the one I was looking at a month ago. They wanted 140 bucks for that one. This one here since its just me and my son living here I figure we can get at least 4 meals out of it. So you break that down it sounds a lot better.

Those are canadian dollars eh. Think it comes out to about $4.75 /lb which is cheaper than i can buy it by more than a dollar. But i am tired and could be mathing wrong.

You need to get some sleep LOL

At $14.31 per kilogram, the price is approximately $6.49 per pound. The CalculationBecause one kilogram is equal to roughly 2.20462 pounds, you divide the per-kilogram price by that factor to find the price per pound:Formula: Price per Pound = Price per KG ÷ 2.20462
Math: $14.31 \div 2.20462 = $6.4912

Now if you convert that to US dollars you might be right. WHich I got to be $4.71

Zzzzz but canadian dollar to us dollar is $0.72 ish so .72 * 6.49 =4.673
I figure since he lives in the country to our north the great canada he would be paying using their dollar and not ours.
