I have joined the pellet cooking crowd, I came across a one time deal on a Traeger Timberline and I just couldn't resist. Last night I ordered the 1300 and hopefully it will be here the end of next week but I won't know until I get the shipping notice. Really looking forward to learning all the ins and outs of pellet cooking on this grill. I have been cooking on charcoal all my life, so this is a huge change for me. I will still be using my Kamado Joe, this will replace my Akorn, which has the bottom rusting out. Can't tell you how excited I am that this happened, now the wait for it to get here.

I am sure you will enjoy it. They do turn out a great meal.

Congrats on your purchase. Looks like a nice unit. If for some reason you aren't happy with it look at the RecTec units. High quality units.

The "set and forget" ability of pellet grills as a great plus. Lot's of good food coming out of pellet grills, even on the competition circuit. I'm sure you'll enjoy learning your new grill and will certainly enjoy the food you produce as you learn.
Congratulations and don't forget to share some of your results with us; good or bad!

I have looked at the RT700 Bull and it was very high on my list. I just couldn't pass up the deal on the 1300 and I think it's a better grill then the Bull, I just never thought I would be able to afford it.

You're going to love pellet grill cooking as they are very versatile. I would recommend a cheap shop vac if you don't already have one. Most pellet grills leave quite a bit of ash after a few cooks that needs to be cleaned out.

Thanks for the tip. I already have a small ash vacuum from using it to clean out my Kamado grills.

Congrats on the smoker. I’m sure you will be tickled pink. Of course you must post obligatory pics of the smoker and the food you smoke on it after you get it.

Looks like I will be able to post some pics earlier than I thought. I just got my shipping notice and the grill should be here Tuesday, very excited.

It's finally here!! My 1300 arrived today. Here are the obligatory unboxing and final assembly pics. Just ignore the mess in the garage, when I shut the pool up this year everything just got thrown inside and I haven't ever cleaned up. I will get it fired up and seasoned tomorrow and then some Ribs for dinner.
