I got a 3L oak barrel for my whiskey.
Fill with hot water and let it sit for 3 days before i put some spirit in it.View attachment 637361
Let me know what you think of this. I’ve been intrigued about this rapid aging process for years. A friend did this and the results were very tasty. It turned a cheap bourbon into something stellar.

Getting the mini prepped.

Instructions say to lightly tap the spigot in, put a clother over it and tap, dont force.

Ok

Fill with hot water, some leaking may occur around barrel heads and between staves, this is normal until the wood swells.

Leave the water in for 3 days then fill with your fave spirit.
Dry barrels will loosen, always keep water or spirit in your barrel. Use sanitizing pills (incl) if you switch your spirit brands.

Ok

Now wait.

Hmmm?

Angels?
Four Roses?
Wolford?
Buffalo Trace?
Blantons?
Bullit?
Bardstown?
Makers?
Heaven Hill?
Boundary Oak?
