This week's "deals"...

...are few and far between, but here's what I see around me...

-Food Lion has choice NY Strip steaks for $7.99/lb. and they'll cut you whatever thickness you want. Also have chicken thighs and drumsticks for 99¢/lb. Choice boneless chuck roast for $4.99/lb. and center cut bone-in pork chops for $2.49/lb. but they don't cut either of those...

-Lowe's Foods has C.A.B. select whole tenderloins for $9.99/lb. and Boston Butts for 99¢/lb...

-Kroger is advertising "Angus" boneless top sirloin steaks for $5.99/lb. but doesn't list the grade so I suspect select...

Kind of slim pickings on the "deals" this week around me...

QFC in the Seattle area has pork butts for $.99 lb. this week.
Never thought I'd see that again.
(Edit: I forgot to mention that QFC is owned by Kroger.)

I was at QFC in bellevue yesterday and they were 3.49. Argh.

I have been doing alot of shopping at my local Acme supermarkets. They regularly have buy one/get one free and a special area they call 4 for $20 - (Buy 4 special marked packages, pay only $20.00 for them - no limit ) just need to watch prices and make sure what you are grabbing is over $5.00 each to make it a deal. I've picked up four 1Lb packs of jumbo shrimp - package marked at $10.00 each - for only $20. can get all kind of meat deals there

Yeah, the sale started on Wednesday, Feb 16th.

North TX area is slim pickings too this week. Basically Kroger has $0.99/lb for Pork Butt/Shoulder and $5.77/lb choice T-Bone steaks.

Tom Thumb/Albersons/Safeway has $3.99/lb bacon in 3 pound packs and $2.99/lb Ground Turkey 93/7, oh and Banana's $0.29/bunch hahaha.

Looks like a slim week after the superbowl sales have come and gone.
