The Watco salad bowl finish really does an amzing job!
Yes sir ! Great for things that won't need to be touched up , but still need to be food safe .
Gives it more of a display quality . Perfect for those cheese boards . That's a nice one there . I like that style .
I'm working towards some serving trays . Just bought a set of tray and bowl bits .
You should try some of the small boxes . Makes good use of scap , plus it's a fun project .
Finished these 2 last week .

Is this the same as Watco butcher block finish? Can I use it if the board was already treated with Howards Butcher Block conditioner? seems a little bit more glossy.

Yes , comes in a can . Some has a stain added to it , says " Plus stain " . Mine says Butcher block oil and finish .
Dries hard , and has a 72 hour cure time before using . Apply in thin coats .
I'm not sure how good it touches up knife marks .
If you already have oil on you boards you'd need to sand them I would think . Maybe not .

That maybe tricky. That board has three coats of Howards on it. With Watco. It says not to apply over any other finishes. Cliff, if you like this one better. We can work something out.

Right . I only say " maybe " because if it's already mineral oil and beeswax it might be OK .

Actually , this one I did the weave on had several coats of board oil on it . After I did the weave and resanded I used the Watco with no issues . I ran it through the drum sander , but it still showed some color .

No Steve, absolutely nothing I do not like about the board sent. Just trying to learn a few things. All new to me.

Really nice Steve. Those cheese boards would get a lot of use around here for sure...
