I personally have never had any issues with the stock Weber dial therms
I think I will also order the stock Weber dial therm for my river Kettle. Any tricks to drilling the hole? I trying to get my buddy to make another tailgater for me. Be nice not to take the legs off every time. Lately I just get him to bring his when I cook.

I imagine it will be the same as when I installed the hinge on my WSM. I marked it with tape, drilled the holes and used some spray paint to paint the holes so they didn’t rust. I’m looking to do the same to my lid so interested to see if others have any ideas

My therm is sitting in my basement…still in the package…🙈🫢😳 I haven’t taken the time to install it yet…I might get it done this evening!

Any tricks to drilling the hole?
Drill from the outside in so you don't pop the coating .
Tape over the area with painters tape , and drill a pilot hole . Then step it up a bit at a time until you get the size hole you need .
This was for a silcone therm plug , but same method .

I used a step bit .

This is on the electric kettle mod I did .
I use it for a therm access and the temp probe for an Auber controller .
