Funny Rick! Carrots do that when the root hits something hard. They prefer loose sandy loam soil with no rocks.....

I knew a guy that used to grow stuff in stacks of old tires , with sand and dirt . Damn carrots were 4'0" long .

The guy down the rd said his carrots didnt do well. Said its the dirt and you really have to treat it good. The chicken love the dinky carrots though.
