Thanks to the mods for getting rid of that smelly thread. I can smell the thin blue smoke again.

Whats everyone smoking this weekend?

A side note: I ordered a small electric smoker for my apt today. I will be smoking more with you all again.

It does seem nicer in here now.
I do not have anything planned for smoking this weekend....hope to get some ideas from the forum.

Congratulations on your new smoker Vlap, take plenty of pictures for us.

Going down to the in-laws place for the weekend. No smoking, but should get some fishing in.

And WHAT IS THE BIG IDEA asking about the who's cooking what this weekend.......I thought that was my job.

I should be banned for stealing your idea

Just had to get the thin blue rolling again.

I went ahead and got one of the Rival KC Smokers. I have a feeling I can get away with that in my apt. Although small it seems capable of cooking a decent amount of meat if used right. Scotty has consistently produced good food out of it. I am going to give it a try. I don't get to the parents every weekend to smoke so this will allow me more smoking time at home.

I have seen a few other members mention they have one as well. Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks Joe... I appreciate your leniency on the matter. You can still post your normal friday post. This thread won't prevent that

I saw one of these at Wal-Mart yesterday and was drawn to it like a magnet. Looking forward to your assessment of it. I may very well need one for camping.

I was thinking of the same thing. I've used a crock pot before when it's cold out. I set it up go day hiking and when I return late at night I have a nice hot meal.

Nothing like a crock pot full o beans n ham. Go out all day and come home to a great meal waiting.

This will be a great unit for me to use on those day when I don't get to use my verticle smoker.

I am looking forward to its use.

The crock pot is my frequent savior as well. This smoker he's talking about isn't much bigger either. Now I'm kind of mad I didn't demand one when my wife coaxed me out of it...

Glad you will be back among the tbs again!

Do you know what the temp range is for that smoker? I looked it up and looks pretty cool.

If the wind and snow from Saturday quit, on Sunday I'll be smoking a rack of ribs, a couple of fatty's, my first chuck roast and possible ABT's.

My son is getting married on Saturday and I have been chosen as the official photographer... It's also at a casino so there goes my smoking money for the week... lol...

As for the temp range I am not sure but I think I remember it saying that the smoker can also be used as a roaster oven which would imply higher temps around 400 I would like to think.

The one here shows 150* at the mid-point of dial rotation, and 350* at the upper limit of the dial...no temps are shown below 150*...

Seems likely it'll do what I want it to, but still testing it out...so...all the facts aren't in yet...

It should fill in just fine at those times you're away from your vertical...

Until later...
