I have a pair of long handled metal tongs that came about in the same way . They're great from reaching into a hot kettle .

Almost 10 inches wide. It's called a Hawg Lifter.
When I was at Lowes to pick up one of those rib membrane remover tools, that this forum "forced" me to buy, this thing fell in my basket.
Hawg Lifter

Should be great for managing pork butts.
Wait, the spatula is good but what’s this membrane remover tool?

53 years ago from a commercial kitchen remodel and it was old then.

That is what I remember using for sooooo many years. Strong and sturdy.
And had that sound on the hot plate , flipping 3-4 eggs at a time.
Oh the nightmares I mean memories, lol
