What I’m thankful for:

My Lord Jesus Christ, ...five years after I accepted and received His offer of salvation He called me to Tahiti as a missionary. As per His instructions I came here without any financial support or money, He has blessed me with work, land to build our house and my Eve that He had chosen for me was waiting for me here, we’ve been married almost fifteen years now, …and He has trusted me and given me the responsibility of serving, nurturing and tending some of His children.

Between working to put the bread on the table and ministry I have very little time to participate here other than lurking when most of you are sleeping, I want to thank all of you on this board for your love, support and advice, you are my only contact with the outside world and the only opportunity to talk in English, …my cup truly runneth over, …THANK YOU!!!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving my friends and do so in rememberance of Him,

Gene

In this order:
  1. Mrs. Engineer. She is Beautiful, my wife, and also my best friend. She makes me stronger and helps me survive the tough times. She also will grab my arm when someone pisses me off and they are about to find out about it.
  2. My Two Dogs - The cow girls. They are always happy to see me and even on the verge of sleep will wag their tails when I enter a room. It is nice to have someone look at you like you hung the moon.
  3. A Job. I was laid off in January, and found employment quickly. My Brother (another engineer) went for more than a year. A lot of people are without a job, and I know how tough that is.
  4. The ability to have no specific needs. I might have a few "wants", but my needs are fulfilled.
  5. The friends that I have met here. This place got me through a rough patch when I was laid off...I have made some friends that I believe to be genuinely good people.

I am Thankful for many many things. First and foremost......
#1 a beautiful wife that loves me more than I could ever possibly deserve,
#2 4 healthy and happy kids that tend to drive me up the freakin wall,
#3 a decent job that pays above average in a below average economy
#4 in fact all i have to do is look around me at any given time and can find a multitude of things to be Thankful for. If you happen to have a hard time finding something, just look around you, or around this forum for that matter

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

I am most thankful for God, Family, and Country. I do want everyone to know that we really need to be thankful that we live in the most free and abundant country in the world!!!

My son recently returned from Ethiopia where he was doing graduate paleontology research in the field and in Addis Ababa. Being there over a period of 30 days has certainly humbled him and make him keenly aware how trivial many of our problems really are. To speak to him today he says he is really thankful for:
  • Food
  • Clean Water
  • Electricity
  • The Internet
  • Paved Roads
  • Clothing (He gave his all away before he left there)
Prayer for the day: Lord, thank you for everything you provide and escpecially for those things we certainly have taken for granted. AMEN
