I found this one a year or two ago m, cause like your wife, mine felt the same way. It's pretty close but exact, but hey close is good enough for us with that stuff!

1 stick of room temp unsalted butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

We use the kitchen add to mix it all up till its a little fluffy. We like it so we haven't tweaked it but I'm sure there are closer recipes. We don't make it to often cause I'll eat the batch, but it's nice to show off for company :-)
Directions
1. In a small bowl, with a handmixer, beat butter till fluffy.
 2. Add confectioner's sugar at a time, blending well.
 3. Add cinnamon to mixture and blend well.
 4. Scoop into a small container-serve immediately or refrigerate.
This came from "CopyKat" recipes.  I have never personally tried it, but it gives you an option.

It's been a good long while since I've been to a Texas roadhouse,(probably close to 20 years) but if memory serves I remember thinking there must've been nutmeg in the butter as well. And I'd also bet on a pinch of salt.

Cool We like their butter too. Do you like their steak seasoning ?

Here it is

Texas Roadhouse Steak Seasoning
 1. 2 - Tablespoons Kosher Salt  (you can use regular)
 2. 2 - Teaspoons Brown Sugar
 3.  1-  Teaspoon ground Black Pepper
 4. ½ - Teaspoon Paprika
 5. ½ - Teaspoon Chili Powder
 6. 1/2  - Teaspoon Garlic Powder
 7. ¼ - Teaspoon Salt
 8. ¼ - Teaspoon Onion Powder
 9. ¼ - Teaspoon Turmeric
 10. ¼ - Teaspoon Tony’s     (That's my add)
I take all the ingredients and put them in a small food processor, blend well and keep in a shaker

This stuff is good on steaks, pork chops and just about everything

The Butter definitely has salt in it to punch up the volume on the bread and sweet potato flavor, plus it makes sugar taste sweeter.

Gary, just out of curiosity...Why do you buy Garlic Salt?  That stuff is really old school but it is about 1 part Garlic Powder to 9 parts Salt. The crazy part is they charge almost the same price as the 100% Garlic and it is mostly cheap salt! If you have added Garlic and Salt to begin with there is little point on adding garlic salt...

Hey Jimmy glad you caught that, That is the recipe I got off line I haven't used garlic salt in years I use straight garlic powder. I will correct that now.

Thank's

Gary

Wow, suddenly I feel all ashamed for having garlic salt in my cupboard. I guess I'd better go through my spice cabinet and make sure everything is "approved". Tsk tsk...
