SW, afternoon.....  I'd plug the bung and lift the lid with wire just to check the air flow before drilling holes....  If you put coat hanger wire in 3 spots under the lid, that should give you an idea of what is happening...  If it don't work, try a shingle for an adjustable air space.... see what works and keep the 1/2" nipples plugged and just use the 3/4" ball valve.....  let us know what the results are... other folks here are on pins and needles waiting for the results.....   Dave

Ok everything has been sealed again with high temp sealant...I tossed the lid ring lock in the shop to see if it was locking the lid too tight (yep trying anthing now LOL) I will put a gasket on the lid tomorrow and then wed or thurs put wire under the lid and make a run to see how it responds before I drill holes in the lid

thanxxx everyone I will let you know how it goes :)

ok guys I put a gasket around the inside of the lid and now it is sitting on the top lip of the drum without fitting down onto the drum if that make sense lol in other words with the gasket on the lid it is holding the lid up on the top ridge of the drum...will that work in your opinions

SW, morning....  Have you had an opportunity to try out the UDS with the mods ??   Let us know how you are coming along... Dave

hey guys just an update

I used high temp sealant to go around all the bolt heads and inlets and then I made a hole in the drum just beneath the rack to let my remote thermometer probe sit. I also calibrated it in ice water so it is spot on....it hasnt rained here in 3 months but since I have been working on this drum it hasnt quit raining LOL go figure...as soon as the weather and my work schedule cooperates I will try it out and give you an update

thanxxx for all the help

thanxxx guys and any more input will be welcomed
