I set up a PID temp control for my smoker.  It works fairly well. My question is that it came with a rubber coated NTC sensor.  I want to have a metal sensor inside the unit.  I read somewhere on this forum that I need a K type probe. So, I got one off ebay.  Well it dont work.  all I get is EEE error. Any ideas?  Thanks Geo.

What is the brand name and model # of your PID controller?   Auber?

check your manual.. should be a setting for different probe types... they usually come set (default) for a J type probe...

No manual el cheapo just a sheet with some really bad English.    thanks Geo.
