Greetings!

I'm new around here, but have been part of a competitive bbq team for a bit, and have been looking to build a stick burner. We've been primarily using WSM's, but I'm really excited to try something new, especially after reading Aaron Franklin's book.

I recently came across two tanks that I was able to pick up for FREE (the best price), that also meet my needs of it being a good size for weekly home use, but still being able to handle a decent amount of meat.

The tanks are apparently 16"x60" (although I think they might be about 17" in diameter), and I'm thinking they have a water capacity of about 50gallons. They are still 1/2 full of propane, so I'll be trying to use that up soon. (Lots of deep frying in my future?).

I think I'm going to turn these into two separate smokers, with rectangular insulated fireboxes, built basically according to Aaron Franklin's recommendations for the most part.

I look forward to reading about your experiences with similar projects, and any tips/advice you all have.

Cheers!

Tom
