After several weeks of removing the upper respiratory infection from my body, and coinciding with the home opener for Saint Louis Football Club (United Soccer League Club) of which i am wit the official supporters group, our opening tailgate we put on and its usually a huge buffet for our "Charity du Jour" (this week it was for Colon Cancer Awareness)...my task was to do 2 10# butts ( we had a total of 4 butts and 4 hams).

For this is did 1 with Killer Hogs BBQ Rub and 1 with Meat Church Deez Nuts, i also decided to test doing "Fat side up" vs "fat side down" since in the Camp Chef Smoker Smokers FB Group the majority decision is to cook fat side down (due to the position of the fire cup).

I also acquired a new Fireboard Labs device and this was a great test of the new device (my maverick is persona non grata ;P)...

Some Details:
- Smoke Ring Apple/Cherry pellets
- Killer Hogs Rub
- Meat Church Deez Nuts pecan rub
- one fat side up, one fat side down
- 17hr smoke...14hrs on hi smoke, 3 hours on 275
- no wrap

I didn't notice a difference between fat side up and fat side down. They both came out super juicy, super tasty. The Meat Church Deez Nuts rub was a hit. The butts didn't last but 1 hour, they were there Belle of the ball. My butts were all gone within 30 minutes.

The FireBoard was worth it...I also recommend using an big enough external battery (mine is 20000 mAh and only used 1/4 to stay fully charged).

Our food and donated beer raised about $400 for Colon Cancer. I love doing things for, and being a part of the St. Louligans :)

In St Louis, we have a BBQ Supply store that sells all sorts of rubs, sauces, cookers, pellets, wood chunks, thermometers, etc. They have Butcher BBQ rups and injections, Meat Church, Code 3, Killer hogs, John Henry, etc. (They do sell online, STL BBQ Store)

Thanks for the input! I had never heard of the meat church brand. I usually make my own rub but that's for sure worth a try!
