Sweet and Sour Pork Fattie with weave, and fried rice and egg rolls
Slowly finding time to do some smoking, done a couple things sense back from US vacation
It was -12 C ( 10.4 F ) with wind today, took a bit to get the smoker up to temp even in the Smokers Shed
Here is todays supper,
Start with 1 1/2 pound of ground pork, added some fine chopped veg, and a little sweet and sour sauce that I just made for the meal. Egg and bread crumbs. Mixed and into a bag to flatten out. Added larger chopped veg ( onions, green and orange bell peppers, pineapple and ginger ) and a little of the sauce mixed in..
Rolled and into the fridge while I make the bacon weave. Add loaf to weave and wrap and into the freezer while the smoker comes up to temp.
Into the smoker at 275 deg. with Cherry chips and chunks, after an hour upped to 335 deg.
While this is going on I prepped up the rice , had more veg chopped up smaller and the was 1 strip of bacon left over so chopped it up and fried also. with a couple eggs fried to add to the rice . The rice I like to cook in Turmeric and a little sugar, mostly for the colour.
The fattie is finished, I was going to put some of the S+S on as a glaze but changed my mind at the last minute.
Glad I did not as MIL found the sauce a little to sharp for her. Everyone else was happy with it.
Sliced and the rice and egg rolls ( last of our homemade , time to do more . Don't know when. lol ) are ready.
And of coarse my plate of fine dining, " in my world Ha Ha "
Sorry forgot my sauce.....
Everyone was happy and all went for extras, and yes I had a couple plate also.
Hope you all made it to the end , Thanks for looking
David
Up next in a day or so will show what I made the other day while trying to duplicate what I had at one of the many food trucks I went to down in Florida.
