Mouth watering is all I can say! Awesome job Ray. Have heard a little about the sns, what do you think are pros/cons of it compared to a vortex? TIA Ryan

Well Ryan it seems to me the vortex is for cooking hot, you get about half a grill with the SnS that'll get up to about 1000º if you want it. It'll also drop down into the 225º range for a extended period of slow cooking, with coals and wood chunks you get the best of all worlds. I never had any use for a vortex, a layer of hot coals on the bottom was plenty hot enough for me. From what I can tell the vortex is for searing or chicken wings placed on the outside of the ring. The SnS will let you do just about anything. RAY

Thanks Rich! I actually cut those from one of the three whole primes I bought last Xmas when they were on sale, got another two in the freezer. Got the idea from Bear after reading one of his posts where he does that, leave a couple inches of meat on when backing the rib bones off. You get some short ribs and a nice thick steak for the grill. RAY

Thank you John, and thanks for the LIke, it is appreciated. One of these days we'll be able to get together again for a little fun, tho now they are saying social distancing can go till 2022! RAY

Oh Boy!! Two Great Meals in 2 consecutive Days!! Now We're Talking'. Nice Job, Ray! Like. Bear

Might be 3-4 meals with the leftovers Bear, I'm looking forward to them! I followed your advise on cutting some short ribs from the whole prime roast, got a couple of three ribbers left in my freezer too. Thank for the advise Bear, I'd rather eat these ribs than brisket any day, and thank you for the like, it is greatly appreciated. RAY

Yes it blows...still got your box with water bottles I need to return. I was actually wanting to host the next one. Let's hope it is not 2022.

Feel free to toss the box and bottles John, I get a new juice bottle every 2-3 days. Yeah, I'm really hoping this thing won't go on forever but some of the forecasts are pretty grim. RAY

Hey that is a good bourbon there...and really reasonably priced too

I can't tell the difference between Evan and Jack, and at better than half the price I'll keep the money in my pocket every time. Different story when I'm scotch shopping, bigtime. Thanks for the Like, much appreciated. RAY

Heck Warren, I figure we're all pretty much in the same boat, shopping at Freezermart. Those shrimp actually made the move from CA to AZ ten months ago and were just starting to get a little frost on them. My wife is killing off the rest of that bag for herself tonight, leaves us one last 2lb bag in the freezer, then we have a size drop off. I'm having leftover beef ribs, they were great! Long before this pandemic I've always kept my garage freezer full, wife always has made sure the pantry is well stocked. Every time I get a little room in the freezer I restock, lately I'm focusing on spares, butts, and chicken thighs, don't want to get caught high and dry. Thank you for the Like, and stay safe and take care. RAY
