Can anyone recommend a good thermometer for measuring the temperature inside of my MES? Also a good meat thermometer?
Thanks for any advice.
Thanks for any advice.
x10!Maverick ET-732 It has 2 probes, 1 for smoker temp 1 for meat temp and a remote so you can monitor temps from inside the house. A forum sponsor has them on sale right now with free shipping:

I have a Mav 732 and do like it but am always interested in what's out there. I have not been able to find a Dual Probe Remote Thermometer from any other company...JJ
True. My first one crapped out in a little over 6 months. First I thought it was the probes, then the display went too. The 2 I'm using now are great. No problems. As usual, this thermometer gets mixed reviews. Some say it is the best themometer under the sun, while others complain about the cheap probes and poor quality control.
I rely heavily on the amazon reviews and got me bit weary as well and decided against buying the maverick. Rather I have my faith on the temp reading on my machine and just use the ThermoWorks RT600C thermometer to get internal meat temp. Thanks for the suggestion. I looked up the Maverick ET-732 on Amazon. As usual, this thermometer gets mixed reviews. Some say it is the best themometer under the sun, while others complain about the cheap probes and poor quality control. The fact that this themometer only comes with a 3 month warranty makes me weary. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for a themometer with a 1 year warranty that I knew would perform well over the long haul. I'll do a little more research and see what else I can find.
I do appreciate the recommendation, and will put this themometer on my short list.
Thanks,
E.S.
