As other have mentioned, other forums i go to get real spicy/inappropriate far too much. The MTB one is good, but on the edge. I closed the rest of my accounts. Just mean crappy dudes looking for the next pissing contest.

So glad that garbage is not happening here. And removed if it does.

I earned each and every one of these gray hairs on my head and face and am proud to show them. Lately I'm going more to white than gray ..... guess I could get a side hustle playing Santa with the Christmas season around the corner lol.

It's sad how toxic, lost, ill, and/or extreme people are "living" out most of their "life" through the internet, forums, and social media.

I also am a member on a couple of fishing/boating related forums. One just doesn't have much going on anymore. Good forum, just not much happening.

I quit going to the other one for these same reasons mentioned above and all the cussing. The moderators didn't seem to care about the language. Yes, we're all sailors (or fishermen), but... And this forum had over 400,000 members last time I checked which was several years ago...

I have been known to cuss on forums where it is acceptable, or maybe even expected, but I refrain from salty language in this forum because it isn't either acceptable, nor expected.

A matter of knowing where you are at and what behavior is acceptable in the context of the site.

Another great point about this forum. The fact that it is family and child friendly! There have been many members who feel comfortable turning their children on to this site if they are interested in cooking. Many Ladies are members here as well, the language thing is not cool in general public in my opinion. The language is just not needed in general dialogue.

SMF and a Tundra forums is the only social media I do... No fakebook... none of that stuff... Hell... I STILL don't own a cell phone ...

But like was mentioned above... I will read other forums looking for quick guidance as a lurker ... Same way I started here but then seen how well and informed the forums are... I went ahead and joined and haven't left...

It is so nice to be on a forum with such great people! I getting ready to go to Playa Del Carmen Mexico and on a couple forums figuring things out. Some people can just be cruel!

This site is my getaway and share things with like minded good people and some have become good friends.

Have had the pleasure to meet two of them. Brokenhandle Ryan and his lovely wife and civilsmoker he and his son.

This is a great place to just get away!

To me this truly is a fantastic place, lots of nice genuine people, which is very rare these days on forums. I belong to a few forums based on various hobbies, anymore this is the only one I still come too.
