Ground beef was on for a steal at the local grocery store so I picked up a value pack size of it. Decided tonight was a good time to make some burgers. Temps here in Nova Scotia rose up above 0C this afternoon as we have some rain on the way, so it was good time to pull the MES30 out. Not much fun smoking when it’s -15C and snow otherwise.
Used about 8oz for each, and a hal sized one for my 3yo daughter. Divided each into two patties, put the filling on one and then placed the other patty on top and formed it all together. Filled with onion, cheese, my own smoked belly bacon, and my own smoked back bacon (which I use more like sandwich ham than bacon). Seasoned the tops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, cumin, and thyme.
Smoked at 250 with a mix of apple and mesquite. Took just over 2 hrs to get up to IT 165.
Turned out great!
