Never knew these existed.. walking thru the small neighborhood wally world these caught my eye way up on the top shelf. They were in no way positioned right in front of you like the candy in the checkout line. Anyway, these things are ridiculously good. Beware if you know what I mean when I say you'll be heading straight to the pantry for them if you have the munchies.

As indicated on the box, the traditional approach is to set one atop your coffee, like a lid. Let the heat from the drink turn the caramel core molten, and enjoy! [Note: you may want to go easy on the sugar in your coffee if you're also having one of these. May.]

My FIL is from Holland and when he goes home he always brings back some from home. We have to hide them in my house!!!

I used to travel to the Netherlands once or twice a year for work. Stroopwafels were everywhere, and oh, so good! Warmed over a cup of coffee really works the magic.

The other interesting thing I found at the Amsterdam (Schipol) airport were tulip bulbs...not surprising, perhaps, but they were available in at least a dozen shops, in bags of 12 to 100 or more, all sealed with a USDA inspection stamp so you could bring them right back to the US without confiscation as 'foreign plant matter'.

I planted a lot after that first trip, only learning later that there is nothing deer like more than tulip shoots as they are just emerging from the ground. We never succeeded in growing a tulip here.
