Love bugs are terrible still, so hiding inside, watching some college ball, and I just bought a new 5 ply pan I was wanting to try, so steaks it is.
I grabbed some chuckeyes and threw together a marinade, something I never do with steaks, but wanted to get some more flavor out of them as they'd be lacking the charcoal flavor I love. Marinade was simple...soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, MSG, black pepper, onion and garlic powder.
Marinated them for about an hour, dried them off, then cooked them over medium/medium-high heat in the 5-ply with a tablespoon or so of high temp olive oil and some of my steak rub.
Went 4 mins on the first side until the steel released the steaks to flip. Flipped, then added in some butter and garlic cloves and basted for another 3 mins to finish.
Here is the end result:
And for doness, on the edge of rare/blue rare, just how I like it.
Now, after dinner cocktails. Cheers.
