Just wanted to thank motocrash motocrash for some advice on modding the stack height, lowering it to grate level

Went and got a length of firesafe heating duct from the aircon guys at the jobsite im currently on (ahh beer, the currency of tradesmen)

Cut it down so that when inserted into the Stack, it sat 2cm off the cooking grate, put the water pan down near the baffle to take the brunt of the heat and fired up the cooker to see how she runs

After some adjusting the tuning plates.. here are the results, its quite surrising.. pre mod, the closest I could get end to end was ballpark 50 degrees and I could get a section of the cooking surface near the stack to within 20 degrees

Probes are placed near the new stack and at the opposite end of the cooker

Here's the mod

The only thing I noticed is that the very middle section runs 10 degrees hotter than end to end but im really not worried about that, anything within 10 degrees i consider even temps

Just wanted to say a big thankyou to motocrash motocrash for the help
