What will to much space between the rf plate and cook grate do to your cook?

If you have room for 2 racks, it will limit your space...

Guess I cut my door to high and fixed my main grate to slide out. I have 7" between cook grate and RF plate.....

Assuming you have sloped the plate to drain grease, And the position of the plate is such that the space (at the lowest point) below is as big as the opening between the fb and cc, it shouldn’t matter at all.
