I chamged out my chip pan on my smoke hollow 38 gasser and have it sitting on two peices of angle iron it seems to be working well but after I smoke the bottom of the pan is coverd in black soot what should I do?

sounds like a lack of oxygen ... check your air intake on the burner.. make sure it's clear and getting plenty of oxygen... if it's adjustable go ahead and adjust it for a little more air... looking for a nice light blue flame ...

tried to adjust the burner no luck does anyone else get black soot on their cast iron chip pan
