Had about 20 people over for my son’s 2nd bday party. Smoked up 2 pork shoulders weighing about 7.5 lbs each using Jeff’s Rub. Also smoked some BBQ beans for the first time. Usually not that big of a fan of BBQ beans, but smoked beans, definitely going to be making these more often. Wish there were more leftovers, but the rest will be frozen for later.

Trimmed, rinsed, and dried.

Covered with yellow mustard and Jeff’s Rub. Placed on a baking sheet and wrapped, then placed in the fridge overnight.

This is after 12 hrs in the smoker. Close to being done. Pulled at 198 degrees and wrapped in aluminum foil and placed into a cooler for 3 hours and filled with towels.

BBQ beans before smoking. Had some leftover pulled pork from a previous smoke and bacon from breakfast so I cut that up some more and mixed that in with the rest of the recipe.

Post-smoke. Smoked these at 250 for about 2 hours. Lots of compliments from the guests about these beans.

Also, here is the finished pork after pulling with some Bear Claws one of my buddies bought me. Way better than using forks.

I split the pork into 2 piles so I could put a finishing sauce in one pile and just apple juice in the other while they stayed warm in a roaster.

We also served chips and Mac ‘n Cheese, but those are too boring to waste time with pics of those!

Very nice! Both of the pork butts were same temp .. unbelievable. Lol good luck hey? those beans look festive.. kidney and pork and beans? cut up bell peppers? onion too?

Nice!

Points!

The pork on the left got done about 30 minutes before the one on the right, but I was surprised how close they stayed to one another through the whole smoke. There are some Bush's BBQ beans, kidney beans, black beans, red onion, and then cut up bell peppers and half a jalapeno pepper. If kids weren't eating, I would've liked to kick the heat up a little bit, but it still ended up very good. Eating more leftovers at work for lunch today and the rest will be vac. sealed and put into the freezer.

Thanks smokinal. I started smoking back in 2011, first one in my family to start this hobby. So it'll be interesting if my son takes up the smoke and seeing what he is able to do with a bit more of a headstart. I have a feeling I'll become more of an eater than a smoker at some point with him!
