LMAO!!!!!!!!!! Dude, we all get along really well, and one of BIL's kids wanted my two younger boys to spend a few nights with them while our trip was delayed, so they got some good visiting time as well.
Man, I almost didn't know how much I missed this full-size keyboard and monitor until now...blackberries are good when in a pinch, but I'd go wacko if that's all I had to use for getting onto the forum! LOL!!!!!
I didn't mind the delay too much as it gave me more time to spend with some family that I wouldn't have otherwise had. One extra day away from work was no biggy...our field supervisor and district manager are very sympathetic and understanding...great people to work with.
The first leg (approx. 140 miles) of our trip home was a white knuckle ride...high/gusty winds, blowing/drifting snow and near zero visibility, with a few drifts that were deep enough to blow over the hood of my 4 x 4 3/4 ton suburban...not anywhere near as bad farther along the way as the road reports were showing. We could have made the return trip on schedule had we known different, but you never know if the info is accurate or not.
Having to turn around and find a motel would have been nearly impossible as the storm was severe enough to break overhead power-line poles and wires in a few areas and many locals as well as other travelers who were stranded had the motels filled up.
Not a pretty place to be and we're glad to be back home now that it's over.
Back to work for 3 days in the morning.
Oh, my wife ordered up $150.00 worth of mixed pork/beef country style sausage from our favorite meat market back home, with about 50% of it being UN-SMOKED....heh-heh-heh!!!!!!!! She did that just for me...I love my wife! I had to reorganize the luggage to make that case-lot of meat fit, but I happily made the extra space.
Later folks!
Thanks for watching my back again!
Eric
