Planning to smoke a 6-8lb porkbutt along with some chicken; Fairly new to smoking & I haven't smoked multiple meats, so far only 1 meat @ a time; Is it recommended to smoke chicken & porkbutt together? also, any feedback about smoking skinless chicken breasts? like to here some ideas!!! Thanks!!!

Welcome Aboard!

This is a great site and you will find it as a great reference, it is made up of a bunch of great folks who love the art of smoking.

To answer your questions (IMHO):

1- You can smoke them both at the same time, however many people smoke chicken at a bit higher temp, however you can smoke it at 225-230 that you would smoke the Butt.

2- I recommend not putting the chicken on a rack above the pork

3- Cook times are much different, if you want them to finish together you will need to put the chicken on after the pork is about 50% complete or so.

Good Luck and Smoke ON!

If your doing pulled pork, start it with plenty of time ! I've seen even small butts take just as long as a big one. They can be stubborned !
