smoking some pork butts

I am new at smoking I was wonder if it matters when doing pork butt fat side up or down?

not really.....most do fat side up......Willie

I smoke mine fat side down. Just because I have a UDS. Direct heat from the bottom. The fat side seems to protect the meat . It works for me and my rig.

I do mine fat side up.
