Smoking on a Budget

We all came up with ways to save money. Some succeeded some didnt.

My invention to save money was when I have seen the prices of jerky hooks. $1-$2 a piece.
I sat around for about 20mins a thought stainless bicycle spokes cut and bent. I have an old mountain bike ffrom the kids when they where younger. So going to work on it later.

Please share some ideas you might have came up with.

What type smoker are you making them for?

Actually I a building an upright unit from old freezer. I should have complete next week. Fingers crossed. The unit will be able to do hot and cold smoking heat source is a custom burner I built and electric air supply for fresh air. All home made.
