Just got a MES 40 and did some spatchcocked chicken and ABT the other day. I have almost no smoking experience. First time using the MES. I have it on my ship, USNS Lewis B. Puller (T-ESB 3). It all came out pretty god, but I look forward to more "research."
I got an electric because pellets and even charcoal can be hard to find overseas. Chips are easy to find, easy to ship, and a little goes a long way. Propane is right out. We operate out of Norfolk, VA right now.
I actually live in NH, but this smoker will stay on the ship.
