I have my parents coming up and I want to smoke something they will be talking about whenever a good food topic comes up. I'm going to be bringing this to a get together at my father in laws house. Party probably starts around 2pm.
I was thinking some pork butt that I'll do the day before, and some beef short ribs and some spares.
The spares I'm going to do with jeffs rub, and glaze them with some of jeffs sauce. They have turned out awesome in the past. Any recommendations for the short ribs, so the have a different taste than the spares? Anyone have an injection/rub fire the butt that they have used and turned out awesome?
Any tips would be great, I want to turn out some competition winning BBQ!
thanks

I would go with a fattie. Alot of people have never heard of them & they are delicious. You can make a few different kinds & they will be talking about them forever!

My birthday is Monday, so i might Smoke up a prime rib roast on Sunday (probably going to go out to dinner on Monday).

if it turns out great, i think i might do that for fathers day rather than the pulled pork.

Picked up prime rib for my birthday test run. I've started a thread in the beef section.
