Hi all,

So I am smoking 4 seven pound pork butts for Mothers Day. For cooking time should I calculate based on seven pounds or twenty eight pounds?

Your time is based on the largest butt. If that is 7# then your looking at about 14 hours at 225.

I like to smoke my butts at 270-280 & they take about 1 hour per pound. So at a higher temp you could cut your time in half.

Adding an hour or so your looking at 7 to 8 hours at the higher temp.

If you have the butts on multiple racks you may want to rotate the butts about half way through.
