Smokin-It Digital vs WiFi digital

Hi everyone...I've narrowed down a new purchase between the Smokin-IT 3D-Digital vs. 3D-Digital Wifi. Can someone tell me what I'm getting for $200 extra to get the wifi and is it worth it, in your opinion?

I don't have a Smokin It smoker but do have one that can connect to Wifi and accessed via an app to view and adjust temp and track the smoke.
Personally, I don't use it anywhere as much as I thought I would when I bought the smoker. I kind of like a "low tech" approach as so much of everything else is connected, with an app etc, even my doorbell!

I have a digital WiFi enabled pellet grill.
I find it comforting with a pellet grill to make sure it's still working properly. I.E. no bridge ups, etc. Plus it also has 2 temp probes for food and I can monitor the grill and food with one app.

I bought a #3 several years ago with the intention of adding an auber PID controller later. I got so that I didn't feel the need to have that much control. I just use a Smoke thermometer for remote viewing of box and meat temps.

I had an analog Smokin-It #3 … worked flawlessly. Only goes up to about 250-275*F anyway, so I never found the need to monitor the pit temp. Used a remote (ThemoWorks Signals is best I’ve used so far) to monitor the product.

From what I've seen on YouTube you can set the schedules on your phone with the WiFi unit. That alone would sway me. The remote monitoring is nice too.

I have an older 3 and never use wifi. I just set temp and temp or temp and time. But for those interested, this is the unit in. the SI smokers and there are lots of instructions. Steve at SI has his own design for the housing:

You can also build your own Smokin-it style controller that has a 6 step temperature schedule. This unit doesn't have wifi and only one meat probe but is great for sausage and holding food after it reaches internal temp.
