 Hey Y'all

I did some baked beans a few months ago. They came out pretty good. Not certain the smoking had a lot to do with it however( I cheated & used Bush Beans). I got a pot of chilli in the slow cooker & I considered adding some smoke. How long would you smoke it & in what type cooking container? I'm thinking a 13X9 pan as this would expose  a large surface to the smoke. I smoked the onions & peppers prior to cutting them up & adding them to the chilli.

Hey Berto,

To add some smoke to the chili, put it in a shallow aluminum pan for about 2 -3 hours and stir frequently.  Stirring is important to get the smoke throughout the chili!

Or, you could do like I did and use smoked pulled pork or smoked brisket in your chili and save yourself the trouble.

Good luck,

Bill

I kinda did the pulled pork thing with the beans. We had "Country Style Ribs" not even certain what they really are

.  I cut some of the ends of the meat up & put them in the beans. It turned out pretty good.

I smoke the meat before adding it to the chili. I separate into 1/3# balls and smoke at 225* for 2 hrs with hickory then crumble into the mix. It adds a huge amount of smoke throughout the dish
