Smoked up some amazing wings yesterday - little applewood and hickory mixed. About 20 lbs of wings and then about 10 lbs of drumsticks. To finish them off I like to crank the grill up as high as it will go, then dump the wings onto the grill, close it up and listen to the Wet wing sizzle. Color, taste, ability to fall of the bone - makes this my favorite way to do them.

Anyway - during this process, over a beverage or two, my brother in law and I started to talk about the space I have for creating an outdoor kitchen. Well - google, images, etc....ideas are bouncing around my head like crazy. I live in a raised beach house near the ocean and have an area under my deck that is 100% dry. I have water (hot and cold) already run to my outdoor shower....so a sink would be awesome for cleaning those dang grates, as well as my hands, etc... I'd like to either do a poured concrete top - or perhaps just use some big porcelain tiles (needs to be easy to clean). I want cabinets that have my rubs, tongs, temp probes, aluminum foil, pans, etc.....

Going to start to draw it out and once I have a set plan I'll get the supplies together and make it a reality. Looking for ideas still - and would love to see what any of you have done to create your own ultimate grilling, smoking space!

Thanks in Advance!

Doug

EDIT....well - took me a while to get started and then took about 2 weeks from start to finish to get it done. I'll show you the 99% finished. Behind the smoker I have an outlet for the smoker and the sonos player. I also have an LED workshop light above that has been AWESOME for night grilling. Still need to mount some stuff for temp sensors, aluminum foil rolls, paper towels, etc...but love the functionality and convenience already.

Love it! Great use of the space! Which way to the beach?
Thanks - about 2-3 blocks east of me. Just got back from golf carting around. Great waves today too, but family coming in and need to fire the grill up today. Smoker tomorrow :)

hehe, in front of the truck is a 12x12 storage room with a full sized fridge. It has drinks and meat. Part of what started me down this process. Nice to not have to run everything up stairs (raised beach house)...only to bring it back down. Just started some babyback ribs down on the kitchen. Was awesome getting to be on one level and have a place to get the rub going, wrap, back to the fridge. Smoker goes on in an hour. Corn on the grill, baby back ribs, a few cold ones and the us open with my dad and two sons. Doesn't get any better!

I think kitchen renovation is not an easy work as compared to other renovation because you have to choose right place for food platform, sink ,flooring, interior & so on.
I'm I correct or something else.
