Smoker build with dad

Hello, we're father and son from germany. We wanna build an outdpor smoker, but we have many problems with getting the materials. We got one metal barrel for the chamber were the meat would be in, but no welding tool and no smaller barrel for the chamber were the wood burns in. We have a limited budget and barely got the one barrel. I reallllly don't know what to do now...my dad trys to get a metal pipe for the burning chamber or what its called, but its nearly impossible to get something under 100€. My dream to have a smoker is in my head for idk 5 years now. Its just tooo expensive. I'd hope for some Support but ik I wont get free parts for the smoker soo idk..its just a kind of last try to ask here.

Like the smoker where you put a barrel on the side with stand under it and a burning chamber on the left. The normal big thing

With limited materials and budget you may wish to consider a drum style smoker instead of an offset.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^ Is what I would suggest. Easily built with minimal tools and materials. Will make excellent bbq or smoked foods.

Maybe build the smoke chamber out of wood and use the metal barrel for the fire chamber. Just a thought.
