What do you do with the ash? Is it compostable? Or just into the trash? 

I'm using kingsford briquettes currently with wood chips
 
Ash generally reduces ph in soil, and usually gets dumped in the garden, st least that is what I do.

We need all the ph we can get around here. Just dump it in a spoil pile if you don't need the ph.
 
I toss mine in the trash..............out to the curb with you! ( I talk to my trash)
