When I was young I would catch Gopher snakes and strategiclly place them in my sisters room for a little comedy . Oh what fun we had.....
 
I'd imagine a rat snake would be about as good if not better at catching rats than a cat. Can't say I'd care much for either one hanging around my house. Skin if and fry it Jake.
 
I love when a snake tries to lift his head up right under my Mower Deck!!

Years ago there was a TV program called "Those Amazing Animals".
You could write them and request a special program.
One of them was a Video of how fast a Mongoose can sidestep a Cobra, in slow motion.
I wrote them and said I always wanted to see what happens to a Cobra when it gets hit in the head, with about a #4 shot from a 12 gage Shotgun, at about 15'---In slow Motion!!
I never heard from them. :emoji_wink::emoji_wink:
