Chicken drumsticks prepped "Lollipop" style are incredibly tasty and show well to friends and family but the Prep Work is all worth it :) Typically my ribs everyone raves over but these little walk past the snack table were snapped up fast! There is a lot of prep involved if you want to impress yourself and friends, getting all the tendons cleaned, cut, snipped, trimmed, pulled, removed blah blah is all worth it if you want a tasty smoked little amazing chicken drumstick, a couple bites and gone! Is there seconds??? LoL
Smoke On

Looks good! I love lollipops! Prep work is a pain but well worth it. I fed a group of 30 with them once. I'll never do that many again! Lol!

Another awesome thing about chicken is you can make them with a sweet / spicy rub and sauce or you can use a salt/pepper/garlic rub and sauce for totally different tasting morsels like these ones. You do not have to spend all the prep time making grab and grub lollipops either, just throw some right on the smoking rack. I prefer the lollipops but our grandson loves traditional leg.

Word of caution smokers, do not over season the chicken, you are not making pork or beef, poultry meat smokes very differently compared with others. Rubs, Seasonings, Spices, what have you can have drastically different potency content so just be mindful of what you are putting on the meat. No one really every says they can't taste the "meat" after it's been in a smoker but if over do it you can beat people will be puckering for water or breathing fire or whatever road the stuff sent them on. If you are new to this, go light and you can adjust for next round.

The trays are from Costco, they come in sets of 2, very sturdy and they have holes for smoke to penetrate.

Smoke On!
