I based this as close as I could from BBQ Pit Boys Cheeseburger Chili recipe.

Here's what I'm using:

4lb ground beef made into burgers, seasoned with a chili rub

3 chipotle peppers in adobo

1 red bell pepper diced

1 medium onion diced

6 cloves minced garlic

2 TBS cumin

4 TBS chili powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

2 tsp coriander

1 can beer

3 strips thick cut bacon

1 can each diced tomato and crushed tomato

1 can each pinto beans and red kidneys

pickled jalapenos

some leftover corn

masa harina to thicken

I made 8 burgers from the ground beef and put them on the kettle to smoke with hickory at low heat for 2 hours before finishing over hot coals. I decided to put the bacon in there to smoke also.

Simmered the veggies in a 12" cast iron dutch oven with some EVOO, then added all the spices and tossed around for a couple minutes before deglazing with a can of beer. Then added the rest of the ingredients.

But before I did anything, I had to shovel my way out my patio door. Woke up to about a foot of it this morning

Seeing that white stuff and being cold here I could use a bowl of that

Looks like some tasty chili! I like garlic bread or bread and butter with mine. Please keep the snow my salt spreaders are broken.

Off to a great story, fortunately just a dusting of snow here (35 out). Working on a chili batch myself!

I will be eating these with some tortilla chips and some salsa con queso if there's any left over after snacking all day.

Luckily since it's so cold out (-20C), the snow is light as air so that made for a quick cleanup.

That looks like some GOOD chili.  I really like the idea of smoking the burger and bacon ahead of time and then adding to the mix.  Bet it was good.

I could have used a bowl of that this morning--drove home, for a couple of days off, through your snow.

Where did you drive from?

Dinner time was late and nothing to do with chili being late, but here's my bowl.

Served with tortilla chips, salsa con queso and grated sharp cheddar. Added a serious hot sauce to my bowl. This stuff... this stuff is HOT. They call it Black Mamba for a reason and I love it.

I left Fort Assiniboine at 6:30 this morning (pitch black and snowing hard), drove to Edmonton to get some parts for my Freightliner (snowing like crazy), and then home to Drayton Valley (to more snow than I'd seen all day).

All in all not a nice trip. Sure could have handled a hot bowl of chili. LOL

Oh Gary, you should've followed the smell and dropped on by. Not that it would've been done, but I could've used the company while waiting lol.

I added no more than a 1/8 of a teaspoon of that sauce to my bowl and my face is on fire. This is the best bowl of chili I've ever had.

Hahaha - I think I have a bottle of that in my cabinet waiting for my Dave's to run low.  Glad the chili turned out to your liking!
