I have been looking for something better to use for a wood basket in my Smoke Vault. I took the plate and set it on the bottom of the smoker on top of the burner hole and then used to put a cut down coffee can with holes in it on the plate to smoke but it wasn't working well.
I have attached 2 pictures of what I would like to do but does the basket have to sit on the plate below or will the wood inside start and smoke sitting like it is in the picture. There is about 3/4 inch seperation from the plate and basket.
