I picked up a smoke hollow propane smoker for free. Its missing a few parts and the burner doesn't work very well. I was thinking about converting it to a wood smoker but I have no idea where to start or if there's other mods I should do first?

I currently use a "ECB" to do all my smoking but I'm looking to upgrade.
