Smoked my first roast today. A Top sirlion and also put a chicken in.
Wow smoking a roast is the only way to go.
Used cherry wood chips, fought the wind a bit today, had some heavy rain and wind off and on. But powered through.

Also found out today how useless the temp gauge is on the door. I knew it was but had to wait for Christmas for my maverick. The door gauge was reading 150f when maverick was at 225f. Was alittle closer at the end when i turned up the temp to 350f the door gauge was reading 300f.
Question. Will a roast act the same as a brisket as in it will "stall" at temp? It hit 131 and stayed there for prob 45 mins. So i pulled and wrapped it for 20 mins and than put it back in at 350f to give the roast and chicken a bit more color on the outside.
IT ended up at 140f and i thought it was perfect.
