Single burner propane stoves

I've had my same single burner Coleman for many years now but I'm in the market for something that'll heat up my 16" x 8"deep crab pot faster,the Coleman is pretty small for that and it takes a while to get to boil to say the least.

Looking for something a little more substantial in size and quality but want to keep it the tabletop style,not looking for turkey fryer type.It'll be used about a dozen times a year so not looking to spend a fortune,around a $100 would be good but I'll go higher if it's worth it.

Recommendations ladies and gentlemen?

The HP-1 looks awesome and totally fits the bill but at $200 I can't justify it at that price but who knows after a few more beers!

I am of the you get what you pay for crowd but money is super tight right now.I'm in the don't need it but would really like it category at the moment.

Northern Tool used to carry a decent cast iron stove. Alas not available.

Did find this on a few places including Cabelas. Great BTU. Cut the legs down a bit for counter height use.

Here are the few I would recommend…..

I used this burner on my copper pot build and have 2 more for my x-fire build…..it has a 15k burner it works very well. It has a dual ring of vertical flame so it’s directed heat. The frame is economic…..

This is an excellent table top unit: it has dual 17k burners I personally believe it’s one of the best table tops….


This is a double burner fold up with 2-20k burners, I have this one it is a performer!



I have the dual version of this. It has a 30k burner and next to the tejas burners is the highest btu low pressure burner out there….. I’ve had my double for more that 15 years, it will last a lifetime…


The tejas hot plates are legit and top shelf though.

I've been pleasantly surprised so far with it's performance. For proper wok cooking, you need to have enough heat to get the wok screaming hot, and this burner does surprisingly well. Only had it for a few weeks, so only time will tell about longevity...but so far I'm pleased.

We have some like that as well... take it camping. Get coffee ready the night before, get out of bed, start it and coffee is ready soon!

Check out King Kooker, saw a couple at our local farm store yesterday. I know you don't want a turkey cooker, but one was a short one that would work on a table top, around $100 I believe. They have a tailgating section on their website that has some options

What I like about the one I bought, it’s dual fuel…so I can run it on those Coleman propane cylinders.

Had to go to the local mom&pop hardware store for some stuff for the jobsite and came across a Gas One 8000btu butane/propane stove.For the whopping price of $20 bucks I couldn't pass it up.Its larger and sturdier than my old Coleman so I figured what the hell and give it a shot.

Now you have me wondering...if mine are just butane or both... I'll have to check. Can't remember seeing anything on it about using propane

I have a butane only version and I like it as well. It is my ultra minimization camping version or bug out grill.....

Ryan, I'm just guessing, but if it's dual fuel, it probably came with a separate regulator for burning propane from one of the small butane cylinders - mine did... it looks like this:

If yours didn't include that extra regulator, it's likely butane only...just a guess.

Mine is similar to Red's in that it's dual fuel. Different brand, but probably made in the same factory. I spent a little extra to go the dual fuel route, but I feel it was worth it.
