i went there the other day with a friend and bought some ribs, was real happy with the whole experience and the price. So i thought i would just get my own card, well i talked with another friend and he told me the story how someone hacked his card and he got ripped off...and after reading some on here i'm not to sure if i want a card from there or not. I'm pretty easy going and laid back, not much bothers me but i'm not very much fun to be around when i get ripped off, espeically by corporationsso now i'm undecided...whatcha think?

I just thought it was funny you posting this question so soon after the other post.
Like I said though, we like having ours. Of course we mainly only buy food, and a few house hold neccessities, TP, dish soap, laundry soap. Other than that we usually don't have the money for anything else there.

I am assuming he probably has a Sam's card that is also a credit card, or credit account. I forget exactly what it is called but that basically the only thing they have that I can think of, how it could happen.

I was wondering the same thing. They can hack our card and the only thing they can do with it is try to get into the store. Can't charge anything with it. They do have a nice selection of meat. Their chuckies are pretty nice in this area.

The charge part is basically a credit account used mainly for businesses.

On the decision part - I think if a person is disciplined, they are good and you can save some dollars. If you go in at 6:00pm after not having eaten all day, you might as well just give them your wallet!

You really have to have a good idea of what a similar/reasonable cost is at your local grocery before you load up at Sams - IMHO.

Was there last night picking up some ingredients for a joint project me and Bassman are working on over the weekend and Spares are $1.87 - pretty good for this part of the country.

We got one last year before the baby came and we've definitely saved some money by buying some things in bulk.

They have the evalues program now that guarantees you'll save 300 bucks a year or your 60 bucks will be refunded.

We get stuff like laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid and stuff like that which we use all the time. Their prices on most stuff in bulk would be cheaper than going to Wal-Mart or Meijer which are our other 2 superstore options.

We also get diapers, baby wipes and formula there.

The basic membership is 40 bucks plus the 60 bucks for the evalues program. 100 bucks a year to save 300 guaranteed isn't bad.

I say go for it...plus you can't beat their meat...prices...

I go to BJs Wholesale Club & i love it... it is similar to Sam's... I am going there tonight for my Saturday Smoke... the member cards there can only be used to enter the building & i thought that was the same for Sams???? not sure how people can charge on a basic ID card

I shop there everyday. I buy my beer, vodka, V-8, paper supplies, computers just about every thing I can. I buy my cigars there and save about 20 a box of 50 at least 2 times a week over Walgreens. Oh, my gas is about 12- 15 cents a gallon less than from the other stations. I save more in 1 month than the membership costs.

Go for it.

After talking with you Ronp, wifey & I are still trying to determine if it will save us some money or not. We have too many other stores around, Ralphs, Vons, Albertson's, Food-4-Less, Wal-Mart, Fresh & Easy, $0.99 cent store, $1.00 value stores....etc. She is a coupon clipper. Then she goes from place to place to catch the deals. Hell man, I think she likes it really. Putting in for a membership to buy in bulk is something I am trying to talk her into, seeing the way the Californian economy is & all.

Iluvribs - Join Sam's Club? Why not? If it is saving you dough then go for it.
